Use of AI

We're excited to have you use AI to collaborate. Let us explain it to you.

The Linux world is divided by many fronts of opinion (although there is one predominant one). Many are against the use of AI in Linux for ideological or technical reasons and when they discover a project made by AI they discredit it and look for any error to attack the project.

Well that’s another thing Pulsar OS doesn’t get into. Pulsar OS is developed with the help of AI and tested in depth. The Pulsar OS community uses AI and there is nothing wrong with using it, you just don’t have to go overboard.

When contributing to Pulsar OS, keep in mind:

  • AI cannot replace you, do not delegate communication to agents. Don’t make PR’s or issues with AI, add your point. This is because it is a pain not to feel that you are talking to a human, in addition to the fact that the agent is your responsibility.
  • Don’t redo things or edit large numbers of files.
  • Focus on things that are missing or broken, not on redoing everything.
  • What you send has to be tested and work, and to make it more likely to be published, it is good that it is reviewed and mature.

With these simple rules, we can do things with AI.

El mundo de Linux está dividido por muchos frentes de opinión (aún que hay uno predominante). Muchos están en contra del uso de IA en Linux por razones ideológicas o técnicas y cuando descubren algún proyecto hecho por IA lo desprestigian y buscan cualquier error para atacar al proyecto.

Pues eso es otra cosa en la que Pulsar OS no se mete. Pulsar OS está desarrollado con la ayuda de la IA y testeado en profundidad. La comunidad de Pulsar OS usamos IA y no hay nada malo en usarla, simplemente no hay que pasarse.

Cuando contribuyas a Pulsar OS, ten en cuenta:

  • La IA no te puede reemplazar a tí, no delegues en agentes la comunicación. No hagas PR’s o issues con IA, agrégale tu punto. Esto viene dado por que es un sufrimiento no sentir que estas hablando con un humano, además de que el agente es responsabilidad tuya.
  • No rehagas cosas o edites gran cantidad de archivos.
  • Céntrate en cosas que falten o esten estropeadas, no en rehacer todo.
  • Lo que envíes tiene que estar probado y funcionar, y para que sea más probable su mergeo, es bueno que esté revisado y maduro.

Con estas simples reglas, podemos hacer cosas con IA.
